An initiative to cultivate ginger has begun by revitalizing abandoned farmland in the Sugawara region of Kanoya City, Kagoshima Prefecture. The ginger is grown with care by local residents without pesticides, bathed in plenty of sea breezes. The ginger is then steeped in sweet potato shochu and redistilled to bring out the pure aroma of the ginger. This refreshingly spicy and refreshing aroma of ginger is paired with the sweetness and umami of sweet potato shochu, creating a refreshingly refreshing drink. Enjoy it with soda or hot water, or with honey or lemon.
